From 11 to 20 July 2023, Berlin hosted the important international conference IUGG 2023 (International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics ), a global meeting point for experts, academics and professionals engaged in scientific research on the topics of geodesy, climatology and natural resources management. Among the speakers, Fernando Nardi, representing IDRAN Srl , spoke with a presentation focused on “Opportunities and barriers for the adoption of bottom-up approaches in water and climate governance”.

The intervention explored how the participatory and collaborative approach to water and climate resources management is emerging as an innovative and necessary paradigm to address global challenges related to water security and the mitigation of hydro-meteorological risks. The event was an opportunity to analyze the importance of citizen science, crowdsourcing and stakeholder engagement, tools that are creating increasingly effective synergies between academia, professionals and civil society.
